This past weekend I took some pictures of sweet Mary Alice. (AKA: My baby's bff.) Elijah and Mary Alice are the only ones in the baby room at church right now, so they are quickly becoming buds! She is such a sweetie and her Mom is such a wonderful friend to me, so I was super excited to do a mini-photoshoot with her! I can't believe she is turning eight months old soon. Gah.

Here are my favorites from our time together Saturday!

Thanks for being a trooper, Mary Alice! Even though I annoyed the tar out of you there at the end. ;)

She's such a cutie patootie.

Have a great week everyone!

The other day I got out Elijah's baby book for the first time since... well, since he came home from the hospital. That poor baby book looked sad and pitiful. I started scrambling on facebook and my blog to try and find documentation of when he first smiled, clapped and rolled over. Except my blog wasn't much help because I have been awful about updating this too. :/  I was able to piece together a few things to write in, but there are SEVERAL months and milestones unaccounted for. It's a sad state of affairs over here. So I am going to attempt to use this blog a bit more and share whats new about my third baby at least once a month! That way when I wipe the dust off the baby book to update it I can have somewhere to look for information.

Let's see... Elijah is nine months old today. He isn't officially crawling yet, but man alive can this kid roll. He has been rolling all over this house for a while now. And this week he perfected the army crawl. And he is FAST. So between rolling and pulling himself along with his arms he gets where he needs to go. Though I havent quite baby proofed the house yet, so he has been keeping us on our toes. In the last two weeks he has pulled a small decorative table and it's contents on top of himself, tried to pull wine bottles out of the wine rack, tried to eat a dead bug that one of the boys drug in from outside AND successfully choked on some scotch tape he found on the kitchen floor. (He's clearly fine. Daniel had to do some serious finger swiping in his throat to get the tape out though.) Soooo he's kinda into everything. And he loves it. :)

He still doesn't have any teeth, but that doesn't stop him from chewing on things! Toys, shoes, food, trash he finds on the floor... all of it is fair game. And it's requiring me to sweep several times a day. Lovely.

Little dude has been increasing his table food consumption this month. His favorite things to munch on are bananas, sweet potatoes, whole wheat pancakes, carrots, small green peas and scrambled egg yolk. I still have to have these things teeny tiny due to the no teeth thing, but he gets the job done! He is still nursing at every meal and again at bedtime. (That tid bit was mainly for my records. Please ignore that information if you want.)

Some of his favorite things include being around his brothers, chewing on board books, playing with the ocean animals pictured above, his paci, and taking apart the crib bumpers after every nap.

He has been making the sounds "mama" "dada" and "baba" for a while now. But we aren't counting them as official words until he is consistent and on command. Basically until he is purposefully saying them. None of this calling his brother mama and going "ahhhhhh!" when he tries to call me. ;) It's so adorable to hear his baby sounds though. Zachariah gets SO excited and tries to figure out what he is trying to say. :)

Anyway . That's about it. He's getting sillier and more fun every day. We all love watching him grow and learn new things!

And I will close this post out with a not so glamorous but good as we could get picture of all three of my boys.

Cause I love them so.

Have a great weekend everyone!

I love having a garden this year. It is so nice to be able to go pluck a banana pepper off the plant when I need one for dinner. I love watching my green bean plants grow and I enjoy planting new seeds and anticipating their growth. Gardening is just fun. Frustrating at times. But fun!

Another perk to having a garden is all the insects it attracts. Dragonflies eat a variety of insects, and so they hover around our garden quite a bit. We see THE prettiest dragonflies out there. The boys have named the four regulars that hang around our garden, and this blue one up here is particularly friendly!

This is Skyfly and he is the only one that will sit around for my photoshoots. The other ones I have to be real quick to catch, but this dude enjoys the camera and company of the boys. (As long as Micaiah isn't threatening to kill him.)

This is Green Hornet. He is my favorite, and he usually doesn't stick around for pictures. But earlier this week I got lucky! He had just caught his lunch and was munching away on it.

It took him a while to eat, so he would fly around and land several different places to enjoy his meal which allowed me time to take his picture. It was very cool watching him eat.

See that bug hanging out of his mouth? The boys were in awe.

I can't wait to go back out there with my camera again. I love having these beautiful garden friends around!!!

Elijah: 8 months old PDF Print E-mail

My sweet, sweet Elijah is eight months old today. I would typically say something like "I have NO clue how this happened! It seems like he was just born yesterday!", but time has not gone by incredibly quickly with this one. I have felt every.single.one of these months. The adjustment from two to three kids has definitely been hardest so far and it has stretched me thin. I have yet to find a good balance between baby schedules and the rest of my regular responsibilities, which, if I am being honest, is a bit stressful and overwhelming at times. While these past eight months have been dragging, and I can not wait to be out of this demanding baby phase, I will go ahead and assure you that he is COMPLETELY worth the exhausting adjustment phase we are in. :)

He is seriously the sweetest, happiest little baby and we love him to pieces. He can light up a room with his great big smile, his slobbery kisses are so incredibly sweet, and the excitement that he shows when he sees me walk into a room makes my day! He loves reading time with Dad, adores both of his big brothers and gets super pumped when we go check the mail together. And the sweet snuggles that I receive as I am putting him to bed? Oh my word, they are the best. THE best. That sweet baby plays with my hair, rubs my arm and snuggles his face into my shoulder all at the same time. It's almost too much cuteness for me to handle. I love putting him to bed. :)

He has been eating baby food for two months now and is starting to do a little bit of finger foods. I make some of his baby food, but I have not had much time to do any major baby food making, so Elijah is definitely consuming more store bought baby food than Micaiah did! Which is fine. I am trying to do better at prioritizing things, and making baby food just doesn't fall into the "must do to survive" category. And neither does folding laundry or dusting or cleaning baseboards. :P

Elijah has just recently mastered the art of sitting. He LOVES it. You can tell he feels like such a big boy. I will try and get some pictures of that soon! And he is starting to push up on his hands and knees, which means he will be crawling soon. Gah. I am not ready for that. But he has already shown us that he doesn't need crawling to get around the house! This dude rolls and scoots his way around with no problem! It's the cutest thing. Unless you are Zachariah and Micaiah. He rolls over to their toys SO quickly. I hear shouts of "ELIJAH! Don't eat my transformer!" and "GOSH! How did you get over there so fast! Don't drool on my books!!!" Cracks me up. We gotta baby proof this house real quick like though!

And this little booger LOVES to take apart the bumpers on his crib. Every time I go in to get him up from his nap he has somehow untied at least two of the bumper pads and is playing with them in the crib. And he's SO proud of himself! Good grief. He's a nut.

Anyway, that's a little about our youngest baby. He is absolutely lovable and I just can't get enough of him. :)

Man alive, it is quite the dreary week. So.much.rain. Rain makes for the most unproductive days around here! I swear, I sat by myself in the boys room just staring at the wall procrastinating EVERYTHING. That was short lived due to arguments that broke out and a baby that needed my attention. But still.

Anyway. Due to this unproductive rainy day, I am going to show you some pictures of my parents new puppy!

Well, new-ish. They got her quite a few weeks ago. Her name is MoneyPenny (Penny for short) and she is PRECIOUS. The older boys and I went over just a couple days after she had been home and I couldn't help but bring my camera. Zachariah loved her (and she ended up falling asleep on his lap), but Micaiah was a wee bit terrified of her. He was afraid that she was going to eat his shoe, bit his jeans, slobber on his arm... you name it, it was a concern. He later confided in me that he prefers big dogs because they are nicer. ;)

She is 9 weeks old now and I am itching to get back over there for some puppy snuggles!

Hope you enjoy your Wednesday! If you are in the rainy south, try to stay dry!
